Electric Service was solid and their website and bills are professional and easy to read. That’s where the positive... stops.They did not send notice of a plan change when the term expired. Quietly charging much higher rates. Since we were on average billing - it was not immediately obviousWorst of all, when exploring plans with them to renew the plans they offered new customers were approximately 30%+ cheaper than what existing customers were allowed to sign up for. It is appalling that they do not value their existing customers. I have been a Reliant customer for years...not even sure how long but use to be with CPL AND THE PRICE WAS... RIDICULOUS...Relant provided back then a new meter which did not require a person to physically access my meter and read it...the "drive by" reading and meter was great...the savings and huge difference in rates was immediate...since then I joined their cost usage plan which averages my payments so that the times of high usage costs are spread out with roughly equal monthly payments..no shocking costs during peak summer or winter use. I also joined their weekly email usage report which allows me to see how much energy I used currently plus what I used the week before. I noticed over the last couple years that my bill was getting higher and higher. I've been consistently paying over... $300 sometimes over four for the past two years. I thought it could have been because of my switch to average billing, combined with a faulty air conditioning unit. I was assured I had the best rate around, and I had tried to cancel my average billing twice already period it is still not canceled and now my bill the month before Christmas is at $1,400. This is after paying $350 to get my electric switch back on because we can barely afford it about 2 or 3 weeks ago. At the moment I think this company is screwing everybody.read more

Tonight I had the pressure of chatting with Juan. L about my bill that is due tomorrow and monthly bills for the coming... up months not only was he completely respectful of what I'm dealing with at the moment and didn't make me feel like I was just looking for someone to feel sorry and pity me and he also took the time to answer each of my questions I asked of him and explain each answer to me and he treated me like a person, he wasn't just someone doing there job for there pay check on the other end of the line, he took it on his own to find out if there was anything else that might help me or even save me some money and he did he found a saving of $600 over the coming up months. With what's going on today and the way people are treating people it's so nice to know that there are people like Juan, who is out in the world trying to make a difference or at lease trying and bringing a smile to someone face for a moment or 2. It nice to know Juan, who I know hears all kinds of stories from the time he starts his job until he takes his last chat or phone call for the day that he take the time to see each and everyone of us as our own, no judgment, no hate, no making us feel less of our self for any reason, instead he takes time to listen to us and does all he can for us and ask nothing of us. Can I give this provider a 0? First payment on a new house with new bank was lost in May. Electricity was cut off even... though I call and gave details of payment made. Still almost 6 months later they haven’t found that payment after many hours spent making phone calls and bank sending documentation. They don’t give a damn!read more
Update 8/20/20- After being a loyal customer for over 15 years, I’m extremely disappointed with reliant! I am moving... out of the state so had to cancel my service as I am unable to move service to the new location. I had issues with the day it was disconnected...right in the middle of my move. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a mistake on my part requesting 8/17 instead of 8/18 so I called on 8/17 and asked that they email me a transcript of the chat I where the request was made. They said it would take 24 hours. I spoke to 3 different people including a manager but as of today, I still haven’t gotten the transcript. I called again and the representative I spoke with today put me on hold for 14 minutes! She said there was no request for the transcript noted or sent. She again submitted a request and I have to wait another 24 hours. Their customer service is terrible! I’ll never recommend anyone else with them again.I've had Reliant for over 5 years and have never had issues with them! Their prices are pretty good and their customer service is excellent. I'd definitely recommend Reliant to anyone!read more
I was just minding my own business shopping at a local Walmart, and a friendly Reliant salesman approached me & asked... how much I spent a month on energy? I stated too much! He said, "When you're done shopping come, and see me." I liked that he gave me a moment to do a little more shopping before stopping to talk to him. I pulled up my electric bill on my phone, and he quoted me something better. I was sold! I signed up with him then and there on his tablet. Before I even made it home my inbox was full of info I needed about me switching. I also received an email from my old provider saying I was leaving them. I didn't have to lift one finger when it came to being a new Reliant customer. I haven't even received my first bill yet, and I already know that I made the right choice.read more

UPDATE:Set up with the rep wasn’t great but the service since and my bill thus far.. the app... everything has been... great. I will be staying with Reliant as long as I live in Texas!I’ve heard great things about this company and just got set up today. The rep I had didn’t give a good first impression.. he spoke down to me, he repeatedly sent emails to the wrong address, refused to update my number and had an attitude the entire call. I hope I never have to call customer service again... but let’s see how my bill looks.. then I might revise this accordingly.read more
