I signed up right before the freeze, or was my first bill.I have been at this house for 2 years in my 1st bill with... pulse power showed my usage 1000 kWh over my average usage in this house in the last 2 years. No explanation I've ask for my metre to be checked etc. My weekly reports show my monthly bill being less than 200 but whatever I get my monthly bill It exceeds that exponentially. I've only been with polls power for a few months in extremely disappointed and still have no explanation how our lifestyle hasn't changed however my usage is now A 1000 to 1500 kWh over our average usage in the last 2 years but we have changed nothing. My last bill was almost $500 it's completely outrageous I will never use this company again.read more
I started my electricity service march 1 2021. I called around March 21 concerned because I was not receiving weekly... usage reports. I spoke with a representative to calculate how much energy I needed to use the first month in order to receive the monthly bill credit of $95 for using 1,00 kWh. We researched my current usage and realized I was using the proper amount per week to reach this goal for my first month. The representative did not disclose that my first billing cycle would be a partial month. Since it was a partial month the billing cycle ended early, making our previous calculations irrelevant - this information was available to her (verified by Henry). Without the $95 credit my bill was $139.90. I called to speak with a manager named Henry who advised that the company was able to know that my billing cycle would not be a complete month and apologize for his agents lack of information and that I could have avoided this if I was given the correct information but refuses to credit my account due to this error. I am a diligent user but I cannot use the proper amount of energy without the proper and correct info. My contract is expires in 1 year and I will not renew with a company that will not take responsibility for their own mistakes when I am proactively trying to budget my usage and bill.read more

Customer service was so nice and friendly. They put on a really good front as if they were on my side and trying help... out in the best way possible into making a switch to their company. I really dig the all way the rates are all inclusive. It’s easy to predict your bill each month, unlike other... companies, like the one with three letter who charge your rate per and a ridiculous amount of delivery charges. This is hands down the worst electric company I have EVER had. We are very big on conserving energy in my household so... can someone please explain to me why my electric bill every month is $400.00 to $800.00 a month?????????? My home is roughly 1600sq ft and we are not home most of the day. My contract is up in January and we most definitely will not be renewing and I will do my best to warn others not to go with this company. Do not get your power through this company unless you want to be scammed out of your money. 3 months ago I had moved... out of my apartment into a new place and set up a transfer over the phone with a customer service rep. And that never happened, instead a new account was set up and I was charged an entire month and a half’s worth of power in a place where I no longer lived. I have been a loyal paying customer and this is what they do? They will take advantage of you and milk you for your money. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PROVIDER.read more
Terrible company. Confusing billing. High late fees. My electricity was turned off for $22. I made a regular payment... and their billing made it look as if they had already charged for the late fee (btw, my payment was 2-3 days late). I would give them 0 if I could. Their billing system is horrible. Centerpoint changed our meter to a smart meter. Pulse... was billing us "estimating" but to the old meter instead of the new. Once they caught the error they "estimated" to the new meter. To make a story short, We got a WHOPING $412.00 BILL. I've been living in my house for 13 years, I've never gotten a bill not even near that amount with any of the energy companies I dealt before. We spent hours on the phone with them to no avail so we changed companies. Of course they charged us for cancelling early. We will never do business with them again.read more
The worst electric company I’ve had. In my opinion, pick any other electric provider. I’ve never had a bad experience... until now. I moved to a new home. My plan is 10 cents more per kWh if use under a 1000. I never use under a 1000, so I figured this was not an issue. Well, because I just moved to the new home, my billing cycle was cut short. I only used 16 days of the 32 day billing cycle, so of course I didn’t hit the 1000. Instead of adjusting or prorating the required usage because of the shortened billing cycle, they refused. I asked why, because there is no good reason not to do it if I have only been a customer for 16 days, and the scheduled reading was for 32. After speaking to 5 people, I finally got to corporate and the response was “it is not our business model to do so.” The would rather make an extra $50-80 instead of keeping customers. It is right and fair to adjust the required usage to meet the length I was a new customer. The contract does not specify anything against doing so either. It just states meeting the required usage in a billing cycle, but when you are only a customer for half of the first billing cycle the right thing would be to adjust that required amount. $150 for two weeks of electricity that was under 850 kWh is ridiculous! I was aware of rates before picking the plan, but I was not aware of the cycle or unwillingness to adjust because of the shortened cycle. All of that is out of my control. Customer service obviously reads from a script and can’t say anything beyond that script.read more

Horrible!!!! I went from paying 140 to 270 every single month!!! We don't use this much electricity at home. I've read... other reviews and they all have the same complaint. They all do. Take your time and read the reviews they all say the exact same thing. Another thing. If you don't pay on the date in which your bill is due the VERY NEXT DAY THEY ADD 10 TO 15 DOLLARS OF LATE CHARGES. That's right. 1 day late they add 10 to 15 dollars extra on your bill. Who does that? Normally you will get a 10 day grace period. This company is ridiculously expensive. All they do is take advantage and charge you even more. I pay close to 300 dollars and we don't use that much electricity. Please do not choose this company. Take your time and read the reviews as most of them say the exact same thing. You will regret it. I will NOT be renewing my contract at all. In a time like this where people have lost jobs due to the pandemic you would think they would have more affordable plans or more linient on their late fees. But still choose to charge 15 dollars when you don't pay on the day is due! Pulse power, stop taking advantage of people in this difficult times. I would give it zero if I could. I tried within 3 months to switch my plan cause I wasn’t using near as much as I... thought I would. I called and was on hold forever and I hit the option for them to call me back which never happened. When I finally do get a hold of someone, they said it was past my time for me to change my plan. I wanted to stay with this company, but they refused to work with me. This past month, I was charged $133 for a 700 square-foot apartment on the first floor. There’s something seriously wrong with that and I even had my meter read and said it was fine. Now I’m having to pay $140 termination fee to switch to another company that won’t screw me over. Great experience for my use. When it was time to pick a new "plan/company" I studied my usage and compared against... Pulse Power Texas, and for me it has been excellent. I signed for a 3 year 2000KWH plan since this is what I averaged last year. My billing amount is the same every month, with the exception of 1 month that I expected when I went over my plan in a hot summer month and while I was hosting guest.....but it still for me was much cheaper than my previous company. I love knowing that my billing for 10-11 months out of the year is the same amount. Online payments are easy, and I have had no issues for the several months that I have used Pulse. I'm sure if I did not do my homework and chose a plan that was not based on my usage it my be more expensive. If you have the opportunity, look at how much KWH you used last year and pick an appropriate plan based on your needs. I was a bit worried and skeptical when first switching, but my experience has been nothing but positive. Thank you!!!read more

I feel taken advantage of and will not be renewing my contract.I am severely disappointed with Pulse Power and how I... was billed for my first bill. I was to receive a $95 discount when I go over 1000 kw/h which would effectively lower my rate to 6.1 cents per kw/h up to 2000 kw/h. They billed me for 15 days and I had only used 724 kw/h thus not letting me receive the discount. So essentially, I am being charged roughly the same amount for two weeks of service as I normally would for a full month of service.Customer Service was unable to help me and seemed to not care. Had I known that I would be charged in this manner, I would have never signed up with them. Also because I signed a year contract, I believe they will do this again for the last two weeks of my contract. This seems to me a very unfair business practice, and the fact that would not work with me makes me really upset, and I feel scammed.Do yourself a favor and seek out a plan with another provider.read more

Went to power to choose and signed up with these guys because it was 2 years at 7.9 cents / kWh. Received my first bill... and I’m paying 12.44 cents /kWh plus AEPs fees. I wouldn’t have switched to pay more, but here we are. I completely feel conned. So I’m breaking my contract and switching yet again. Tried calling pulse to see what they could do for me but ended up on hold for almost an hour. Just decided I’d save my breath.read more
Not the worst company possible, but make sure that you don't change your service address in the middle of a billing... period. Twice now I've had my bill cut off before I could reach the magic 1000 kW*h point where they give you a credit. I expect that the next bill will be more of the same and that it will only get better when I finally get on their regular schedule.And don't try talking to customer service about this sort of issue. They just tell you they can't change anything because they aren't the ones in charge of when the meters are read.read more
This company is a complete scam. We were told our rate would be a different amount than what we were charged on our... first bill. I have immediately changed to a more honest and reputable company that does not lie about the rates to get you to switch and then you are stuck with an outrageous fee to cancel. Here are the two pictures to show what we were supposed to be charged and what they actually charged us. This is our first bill and I will not be lied to and forced to stay with a company that did not honor their set price. Run from this company. It is a scam. Absolute WORST customer service!!! You will be on hold for 45-60+ minutes. I was told my refund that they took anyway... after denying my application and not telling me, would be returned to me in 3-5 business days... Here we are on the 8TH CALL since 08-04-2020 trying to get my 225$ back. Tried to speak to a supervisor and got hung up on twice! They tell you “please hold for 2-4 minutes while I try to resolve this” then hang up... Currently on hold again..*** Update***9:48am - STILL on hold for the THRID CALL in a row... Now at 52 minutes!!10:05am - 68 minutes and for 32 of them it has said I’m first in line!! I am so fed up!!read more

Agreed with every bad review below. I reviewed my last 12 months usage before deciding to switch providers and went... with pulse power based on the rates in my usage rage. Have consistently stayed within that usage rage and my bill is insanely high! I had never paid more than 300 a month in the past and now for the past 3 months have had bills over this. I reviewed my bills usage from pulse and my bills from my old provider (reliant) - at reliant, I had more usage and almost 60 dollars cheaper per month! Insane. Switching back immediately.read more

Terrible experience with pulse power. Had an issue with autopay. Was less than 30 late on my bill and gave me notice... before they shut off our power. It’s 90 degrees in Texas and everyone is working from home. Switching power companies immediately. Customer service was also terrible. This company has so many billing issues. Just before Corona happened I had to end my contract early and move due to a... safety issue in my home. I made sevral attempts to contact them requesting they forward my bills to a new mailing address so that I was on top of paying the early termination fees. My online account amount due was inaccurate by almost $100 and it wouldn't allow me to change the payment reflect the true amount due. I kept calling asking them to generate the real bill and email or mail it. They never did. 1 day after speaking to an agent and 2 days after this "bill" is due I get a call from a d*mn collections agency. How tf you send an account to collections WHILE your customer is trying to pay you? While the same customer is requesting accurate billing? I called them back immediately and the agent apologized and said those things are automatic and apologized for the prior agents failing to send the bill. He emailed agreeing to remove the information after making the payment but now they are not honoring that agreement.. this is insane. I have NEVER owed anyone and have never in my entire life had anything negative reported to my credit. I am not financially irresponsible and I take things like this seriously. Stuff like this is reserved for people who purposefully dont pay thir bills..... you don't punish consumers for mistakes you know your company has made. Now this will cost me forever. Some people don't care about their credit, but I care about mine. Im actually very hurt by this because I've always been extremely responsible when it comes to stuff like this.. Shame on you. SOLAR PANEL OWNERS BEWARE!!!I used an online comparison to choose the best energy rates. I used the prior twelve... months of kwh usage to provide realistic information and simulation of bills via Pulse Power. Pulse Power came up slightly lower than my current provider.After transferring my service to Pulse Power, 2 months in I received notification from Pulse that my property is not eligible for the rate and plan I chose because of solar panels on the property. Nowhere, at any time, during the sign up process was I warned that the plan I was choosing would be revoked based upon the presence of solar panels. Pulse gave me the option to go with the most economical plan they had a the time for those that do not have solar panels.It has been a complete mistake from minute one to choose Pulse Power. I now have one of the highest electric bills I have ever had. Despite having 6 solar panels for over 10 years, Pulse Power is the only company of 5 to rescind / revoke offer based upon the presence of solar panels.True "Buyers Remorse" for me. I will be contacting my prior providers to see if they have any programs to buy me out of Pulse Power and go back to them.Other than this issue with the solar panels and rate changes forced upon me, I would have not had reason to post a poor review. Do not use them. They will give you the wrong information on rates and I was only told the actual rate after asking... many questions to the customer service rep. They will let you a rate is 10.3 when in reality they are NOT including TDU additional rate. So basically 13 cents is ridiculous. I requested a cancellation (within the three day requirement) and told I need to complete the online cancellation. Absolutely awful service and not worth the hassle.read more
This company takes advantage of people's situations. I had several questions regarding my payment that was not taken... out of my account. Nearly a week later, only after I contacted them asking why the payment had not been taken out of my account do they post on my account it was rejected and in return was charged $30. When you pay select credit card and not the other options of ACH pay. I didn't know there was a difference. It should still come out of the same account. I wish I can switch. Very disappointed and a very costly mistake. Very unsatisfied. Don't let the cheap rates fool you. There's a TDU charge through a completely different company cause technically they're not delivering your electricity. Go somewhere else.read more

Deceptive marketing practices. When we received our first bill of $330, we paid it and resolved to do better. Lowered... all energy usage. Got rid of the pool, turned and kept the lights off all the time, AC turned up to 76-78° (was previously 70-73°), unplugged unused appliances, kept doors and windows closed. We made sure everything we did had saving energy in mind. Imagine our surprise when our next bill was $110 MORE! Don't know how companies like this are allowed to operate.
