Cirro Energy is a retail electric provider serving residential and commercial consumers in Texas.  Started out as an independent electric retailer before being acquired by Dominion Retail in 2008.  NRG Retail subsequently acquired Dominion Retail in 2014.  NRG Retail includes other well-known retail electric brands including Reliant Energy and Green Mountain Energy.  NRG is the largest competitive power generator in the U.S.  As part of the NRG Energy family of companies, Cirro combines its characteristic friendly service with the backing of a Fortune 500 parent company.

Cirro offers residential customers the power to choose from a variety of electricity rate plans.  For customers desiring price stability for a given term, Cirro offers fixed rate plans with terms ranging from 3 to 24 months.  Cirro also provides 100% renewable content fixed rate plans for those customers desiring green energy.  Retail electric customers wanting flexibility and not wanting to commit to a specific contract term can select Cirro’s variable rate month-to-month plan.  Commercial customers have an even wider array of retail electric plans from which to select.  In addition to fixed price plans with customized terms and renewable energy content, commercial customers can also choose a real-time pricing plan.

I don't even want to give one star. ABSOLUTELY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've spend countless hours on the phone with a... rep "trying" to get a supervisor on the phone but they never can and won't even answer the instant messages. I've left my sales rep Oscar 5 voice mails, I've sent the supervisor Michelle Thomas 3 emails and have left another sales rep, Peter 3 voice mails but not ONE person returns my calls or replies to my emails. Then to top things off, I was told there aren't any notes on the account. This is just ridiculous and people don't have time to sit on the phone for hours.read more

Received an offer from Cirro Energy for simply flat rate $140.00 a month, no base fee no deposit. Filled out... information online and the pulled a credit, excellent credit, and they still wanted $168.00. stayed on phone for 20 minutes to speak to supervisor. No one returned back to phone. This is false advertising from this company. Don't waste your time. I was going to go with this company to save a little money but sticking with the company I've been with for years.read more

She was very patient and helpful in walking me through the breakdown, how the rates worked and even did the calculation for me on what my bill would have been based on last months usage. I renewed my Cirro Energy Policy today via an Online Chat Session with Dalia, one of their consultants. I could not be... more pleased with the service I received! This was the first time that I wasn't denied a deal that was "at least" as good as the deals that new customers can get. In fact, it was better. Additionally, I was not given any long pre-scripted responses that had nothing to do with the questions I was asking. Instead, I received everything I needed quickly and without hassles! Good pricing compared to other companies, but the Reliant delivery fee makes my bill higher than what I have actually... consumed. Customer service has poor comprehension which makes it difficult to get issues resolved or inquiries answered accurately. I was switched to a plan without the Reliant delivery fee, but the price is higher per kilowatt so it comes out to be the same price. Every time I pay my bill online, I receive an emailed receipt but when I asked a rep to email me the confirmation that my service was being transferred over, they kept sending me a blank attachment and telling me my email address on file is invalid. I received confirmation via postal mail weeks later.read more

When I first signed up for Cirro Energy years ago, I was skeptical of the great rate. I feared hidden fees, poor... service, complex billing schemes, or worse. What I have gotten is continuously competitive rates, a web interface that is easy to use and track my service, and when I had to call to switch service to a new location recently, the call was quick, the agent friendly and the process was painless. My company had done business with Cirro Energy for several years. My contract expired and my rate more than tripled. ... No warning, no phone call, no email, they just raised the rate costing me thousands. I have contacted them twice to try and resolve the issue and both times I got too bad, you should have known when your contract expired. They are vultures and it was during a time that our business had been shut down due to Covid. AVOID doing business with Cirro at all costs!read more

I recently signed up with Cirro Energy. I needed to add my wife's name to our bill to show proof of residency for her.... I transferred up to a manager and was told that there is only one space for the name and they could not add her name but have added her as an authorized user. This is just so absurd that words can't describe. Especially since I know someone else that has 2 names on their bill. I asked to speak with the next manger higher than him and he told me there is none. I guess he owns the company! I will definitely be changing providers once my contract is up. I won't work with a company that is incapable of doing basic things like putting the name of husband and wife on the bill.read more

My bill has doubled over the past 3 months, and absolutely nothing had changed in my home. When I contact them I... constantly get different answers as to why, and they are not willing to help you when you need to make a flex payment. When asked for a flex payment because my bill has doubled I was told that I can apply for covid 19 relief assistance program. But they would turn off the lights, and then they would cut them back on with some reconnection fees. Isn’t that stupid.read more

I received a call from a company, Trans World Systems Inc. Informing me my bill had gone to collections...from Cirro... Energy. After verifying myself to her, I informed her, I have never lived in Texas, nor did have an account with Cirro Energy. She informed me, I need to contact your company.
