During the big freeze of 2021, I lost power a whole 30 or so minutes, instead of for days. I sold several portable generators on Craigslist, without gouging the buyers, and could have sold a truckload more. Meanwhile, my utility power kept the heat and lights on, at home. I don't get $400 and higher power bills, even in the heat of summer, which helps this senior citizen. This is for a house, AND the garage apartment. I live in the apartment, and a family of 4 live in the house, and we are on the same meter. I would compare this with a 3 or 4 bedroom house, as far as cooling and heating needs, with an added refrigerator, to boot.They have been extremely tolerant of me being late with a few payments, too. The... representative said yes, I can offer you 10 cent's per kilowatt, no matter on the usage. This was better than I was currently signed up for. I said ok and was signed up. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I moved into a new lease and my power was shut off by my landlord. I... called to set up new service within 10 minutes . They required me to send my lease and had a mandatory 48 hour review period before turning my power back on. After explaining to supervisors that we had a newborn and this wasn’t an option. Supervisors then put me on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up. I was forced to scramble, call another energy company to turn on power and cancel with Cirro. However, my... experience with them has led me to decide that I will not be utilizing their service again.Lack of communication -- It seems that their operations works in such a way that their team isn't able to look at all relevant information that would make it easier for the customer to make a full and final payment. I made a payment in full (I believed) in January only to learn now that there was a payment that didn't go through in December. Why I wasn't informed of this when I called in January to clear any dues, I don't know. The answer I have received is that the representative did not see the late charge. The company makes it difficult for me to clear my balance, which is shoddy procedure at best.Lack of customer service -- while the representatives I spoke with tried to be helpful (even though one of them missed out on giving me information/ was not equipped to give me information), the service I received from their account supervisor was very questionable. I was repeatedly asked if I thought this confusion was their fault and informed that it wasn't!Not communicating clearly with your customers is definitely not the customer's fault. Not making it easy for people to pay you their balance in full is definitely not a customer's fault. Six years ago I found out I would be moving back to Houston and went on-line to find an electric provider. I was... amazed to find out the number of providers now in Houston and I picked Cirro because I liked their colors and their website. I was able to get everything done on-line and when I moved in August 2012 my account was already set up and so was my electricity. I found they are very reliable and offer great rates. I take advantage of their offering of a 2 year contract and will continue. I have had NO problems and will continue to be a Cirro customer as long as I am in Houston. Haven't received my bill in the mail for the past 3 months. Have called to get the address fixed each time the address... is correct on file they tell me. They say once we send out the mail its not there problem and I have to find out why I am not receiving my bill but if I send them a payment in the mail and they do not receive it its still my problem. They don't care about the customer or want to find out why I am not getting my bill but have no problem penalizing me. It just electricity which you can get from any service provider. Yes they have great rates but they will stick it to you by doubling them in the end. I have my bills drafted so really... never see the bills or payments sometimes for 4-6 weeks until I reconcile my account. My electric "Contract" obviously had expired and they nearly doubled the bill on me to over $.14 per kwh for two months. Told them I would stay with them if they made the "new" rate retroactive back to when the old one expired. They offered $100.00. Good-bye and Good riddance!read more
I love Cirro! Long story short I had them for about 5 years, contract was ending, shopped around and thought I was... getting a better deal and went with another company...3 letters begins with T. Needless to say my first bill contained a bunch of fees they did not tell me about and was almost $100 more than was quoted to me. I immediately cancelled, didn't care about the $150 fee it was worth it to go back to Cirro. Switching back after 32 days was super easy! For the first year of my contract my bill was always 50.00-65.00 per month. Once I renewed my contract my first bill... was 100.00. I was told 10.00 of that bill was a fee because my usage was LOW. My advice is cancel them after first contract is up, because if you renew you will be paying double. Or better yet, do not use them at all...I have made a complaint to Texas Utilities Commission. I encourage others that have been ripped off by Cirro to do same. Look at all the one star reviews they have. There's a reason. Cirro never informed me my two year contract was up with them as an energy provider. On their month to month contract... option, their raised my billing rate by almost half, an exorbitant amount to pay for energy by any standard, during the hottest and most energy inefficient month. I would have happily signed up for a new contract with them, despite the fact they are not the cheapest company. I am fortunate that this is not an undue to hardship on me, but I can't imagine how this would affect someone who is just scraping by in the current COVID financial climate. Good pricing compared to other companies, but the Reliant delivery fee makes my bill higher than what I have actually... consumed. Customer service has poor comprehension which makes it difficult to get issues resolved or inquiries answered accurately. I was switched to a plan without the Reliant delivery fee, but the price is higher per kilowatt so it comes out to be the same price. Every time I pay my bill online, I receive an emailed receipt but when I asked a rep to email me the confirmation that my service was being transferred over, they kept sending me a blank attachment and telling me my email address on file is invalid. I received confirmation via postal mail weeks later.read more
When I first signed up for Cirro Energy years ago, I was skeptical of the great rate. I feared hidden fees, poor... service, complex billing schemes, or worse. What I have gotten is continuously competitive rates, a web interface that is easy to use and track my service, and when I had to call to switch service to a new location recently, the call was quick, the agent friendly and the process was painless. Overall, Cirro has been the best utility provider I have ever had to deal with.read more
My company had done business with Cirro Energy for several years. My contract expired and my rate more than tripled. ... No warning, no phone call, no email, they just raised the rate costing me thousands. I have contacted them twice to try and resolve the issue and both times I got too bad, you should have known when your contract expired. They are vultures and it was during a time that our business had been shut down due to Covid. AVOID doing business with Cirro at all costs!read more
I recently signed up with Cirro Energy. I needed to add my wife's name to our bill to show proof of residency for her.... I transferred up to a manager and was told that there is only one space for the name and they could not add her name but have added her as an authorized user. This is just so absurd that words can't describe. Especially since I know someone else that has 2 names on their bill. I asked to speak with the next manger higher than him and he told me there is none. I guess he owns the company! I will definitely be changing providers once my contract is up. I won't work with a company that is incapable of doing basic things like putting the name of husband and wife on the bill.read more
My bill has doubled over the past 3 months, and absolutely nothing had changed in my home. When I contact them I... constantly get different answers as to why, and they are not willing to help you when you need to make a flex payment. When asked for a flex payment because my bill has doubled I was told that I can apply for covid 19 relief assistance program. But they would turn off the lights, and then they would cut them back on with some reconnection fees. Isn’t that stupid.read more
I received a call from a company, Trans World Systems Inc. Informing me my bill had gone to collections...from Cirro... Energy. After verifying myself to her, I informed her, I have never lived in Texas, nor did have an account with Cirro Energy. She informed me, I need to contact your company. How do I refute this claim.read more
