Worst power company I have ever worked with. I have been a loyal customer for a year. I tried to add a new rental... property to my account, and it was one of the worst experiences I have had. They said I needed to provide proof of ownership and my license, which I immediately did after the phone call ended. The next day power wasn't on so I called and asked what the problem was. They said I needed to send in proof of ownership and license. So I sent it again. The next day I received an email my account couldn't be activated because they hadn't received my documentation. So I emailed it a 3rd time. The next day power still wasn't on. So I called yet again, and was told they had received my documentation but it was being reviewed by the back office.One week later, power still wasn't on, and I hadn't been contacted about anything. So I decided to use a different power company. I emailed 4Change customer service and told them to cancel the request because I was going to use a different company that actually responds to their customers. I setup new service with a different company, and then a few hours later on that same day, I get an email saying congratulations my service was being setup. So now I have two different companies putting in service requests to Oncor on the same day. I had to call 4Change yet again and tell them to stop the service. I spent nearly 30 minutes on hold and the issue is still not resolved.I would rather pay twice as much for electricity then deal with these people again. Stay away!read more

I love 4change energy. They are fair on their prices. However, I did have one problem with them in June 2020, that is... why I took a star. I called May 2020 and requested for my bill to be set up as auto pay. The lady that took all my info was nice and helpful. Fast forward to the end of June 2020, I have a four year old and a one month old at home and my electricity shuts off.. In the middle of the day, during a Texas summer. I called to see what was going on, they notified me that it was shut off due to non payment. I then stated that I set up autopay, the guy then said that it took 30 days before it went into effect. I explained to him that I had no idea, and said that the lady that set it up never told me. He basically said there was nothing he could do, that i just had to pay then wait for it to come back on. I asked for him to listen to the call since they record their calls and begged him to list it as emergency turn on. Nothing was done, after 4 long hot hours it was finally turned back on.Other than that I enjoy 4change.read more

My rates are good, with this crazy winter I didn’t have to worry about being gouged. I am waiting to see what my bill will be flowing the snow storm in Texas. I've seen so many posts about outrageous bills. This service is phenomenal! They send weekly reports that let me know my usage so I know whether to slow down my usage... or increase it if I’m not using enough. I am on the plan that requires me to use between 500 and 1000 units of energy so this tracking system is essential to make sure I don’t get a shock on my bill each month. I signed up to try this electric company out and from their website is appears I will incure a $20 fine if I cancel.... That is NOT the case. You will pay $20 per month for every month you have left. When I signed up,I asked what I would insure if I canceled- they stated $20. I am left with an almost $300 bill! I do not recommend.read more
They are not helpful at all.I agreed with them on March. According to my agreement i would pay around $60 per month.... However my bill always higher then $100, $150.After i communicate with them on September and request an advice to lower my payment. They advised me to change my plan as $85 fixed price under 1000 kw.I asked them is there any penalty fee or something to change my plan and they answered me "NO"Today i see on my bill there is an extra fee $200 for termination fee.I called and asked them what is this fee for. You told me there is no penalties before. And he answer me "the person who change your plan do not know your agreement. You have a termination fee". So how do you know? Why he doesn't?Even if i need to pay that termination fee, according to my agreement it says "A termination fee of $20 multiplied by the number of months remaining on the term of your contract will apply.My contract term is 12 months and remaining month is 6 so 20*6=$120 but they charged $200.They just stealing money from people who does not follow payments of their bill.read more

I will say that they absolutely had the cheapest rate I could find. But you ABSOLUTELY pay for it with their service. I... can only think of 1 other company that has as bad as service as this company in my entire adult life. One time they told me a cheaper rate than what I got. When the manager listened to the call where I was promised that, she said yeah you're right, they did tell you that but there's nothing I can do about it. And the most recent issue which happened today, I terminated because I moved out of state. The agent told me there wouldn't be an early termination fee. Yet I got hit with the EARLY TERMINATION FEE. I called in, provided the documentation and they promised to refund it to my account. Then they tell me they can't refund it to my account, I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a check FOR MONEY THAT SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE! This companies customer service is the biggest joke I have ever seen! Yes you may get a good deal, but you better have aspirin on hand for the multiple headaches you're about to acquire. The cut off date is coming closer, and my pay check comes after the cut off date (by two days). They could not even extend the date for 2 days!!!! I renew the contract and we were fine, THEN... 4Change Energy sent me a link to renew and sign for 2 years and I'll get a $50 gift card, it sounds great right? well, after that, my wife and I got separated, I live ALONE now and weirdly enough, now that there's only ONE person instead of THREE, my BILL is NO LOWER than $180 every month! If I could give this company a 0 I would. I am currently on the phone right now trying to get a manager. I've been... calling last week and never can get a call or a manager on the phone. I've spoken to two representatives and they keep saying it's a 24 to 48 hour call. Yet they are also telling me my bill will be late tomorrow if not paid today and also a $30.00 charge for a disconnection notice will be sent tomorrow as well since it wasn't paid today. Mind you, my bill is $234.00 for a 2000 sq ft home. My bill with previous companies never went over $115.00. I am beyond upset with this company and will never do business with them again. I will make sure that I get the word out on all social media as well. Recap:1. Representatives are clueless to help.2. WORST electric company I have ever had. Not only is my bill literally double what it was before I switched, they take... the liberty of auto drafting the payment 7 days before the due date. I called about the incredibly high bill almost 2 weeks ago & was told all the "supervisors" were busy but someone would call me back in 48 hours. Never hear from them. Then today I get an email thanking me for my payments & my due date isn't for 6 more days. This place is a scam, the information on the fact label sheet is BS. Company will try to sell you on 6 cents per kwh. In a small apartment, that I'm rarely at, I got my first bill of over... $115!! Don't believe them on the phone and really don't even try to get them on the phone. It is not cheap, or even average priced energy. You will pay more than what they promise you on the front end. And, Tom, a rep there, will only say in his infinite wisdom : "All I know is you are using a lot of electiricity man" and that's his explanation. Evidently, I know more about energy use and what it costs than he does. Didn't matter what I asked him to confirm, I'd get the above response. There is nothing Savvy about this plan and I'm not Saving anything (name of the plan : SavvySaver). Best electricity company I've used! I found them on a power to choose promo like I do every six months and hop from... company to company. I did one year with them and I've never had rates this low for a 2 story house...our water bill is higher even at the peak! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I switched from my provider of 3yrs to 4change because of the difference in average price... per kWh. This has turned out to be the BIGGEST mistake. They sent all of the confirmation emails stating “there will be no disruption in services” and that our services would be connected on the date listed in the email. It’s now been 3 days without electricity because they screwed up. We lost all of the groceries in our fridge and have been staying in a hotel room while we get services reconnected with our previous provider. 4change is not willing to take care of the expenses we accrued due to THEIR mistakes. Instead, they’ve told us “sorry, all we can do is turn your services on today.” NO THANKS!!!! If you couldn’t turn them on the day you confirmed THREE TIMES that you would be turning them on, why would u trust you to turn them on now? We’ll be returning to our previous provider and will NEVER use this company again. You get what you pay for.read more
