Residential electricity and natural gas customers typically have the choice of fixed price products for terms of 6 and 12 months. Month-to-month variable rate service is also available in some states. Commercial customers with monthly usage less than 10,000 kWh may also be eligible for retail electric service depending on the state and utility service area where they are located.
A unique feature of North American Power products is that the default renewable content is 25%. Typically, retail energy providers offer default products with significantly lower percentages of renewable energy. North American renewable energy content for electricity derives from renewable energy credits from wind or hydroelectric generation resources. Natural gas renewable energy content comes from carbon-offset credits.
North American Power also offers electricity and natural gas products with 100% renewable energy content. These products, green electric and cleangas, also qualify the customer to participate in the Renewable Energy Rewards program. This program provides customers access to a nationwide network of 300,000 in-store and online discounts.
North American Power has a robust online portal that enables customers to interact with the company. Customers can view their historical usage, change account contact information, and renew their electricity or natural gas plan. Customers can also access the Renewable Energy REwards program through the portal. North American also maintains a customer care call center.
